Power Antenna

Can you make the antenna go down if you have no radio installed. Just wondering cause it bugs the hell out of me being up all the time. Thanks in advance.

Without a stereo to control it the antenna should never rise. If the the signal wire at the stereo is disconnected it should drop. Are you sure the motor's plugged in?

Probably the white plastic retractor cable inside the antenna is broken; it is broken on most FCs by now. If your car doesn't have the GTU-style spoiler or anything else in the way, you can just unscrew the retaining nut from around the base of the antenna and remove the motor from inside the hatch area to investigate. If you do replace the antenna, make sure you open up the motor housing to get rid of any fragments of the retractor cable. I think there are good instructions on this repair in the downloadable FSM.
