Dual stockers! (crappy pic, I know) They look old (and are original) but sound good.

Then why doesn't it go beyond the bumper? A proper exhaust should have the muffler tip portruding past the bumper for proper exhaust flow and so that your bumper doesn't get damaged like yours has.

its like that cuz i had to have it modified when i did my J-spec turbo swap. the exhaust shop that did the modifying f-ed it up and didn't make the pipe long enough. i've got pics of my whole system if you still don't believe me.

EDIT: it used to be a Apex'i N1 exhaust for the NA and the piping was to small. so i cut it where it started at 3" and welded pipe in to make up for the cut off pipes. lots cheaper then buying a whole new N1 catback.

Sorry to hear ur exhaust shop sucks, I would've complained about that and told them to fix it since it wasn't far enough out and has basically eff'd up ur bumper now.

Question for those running the Apexi Single N1 Catback - how do you guys like it? My aftermarket exhaust (no clue of brand, looks exactly like Racing Beat though - came with the car) is all rusted out at the moment. I was thinking of running straight headers until I get my Apex N1 CB, but I do not know if there are disadvantages to that, besides the noise.

Also, any idea if the Racing Beat headers will fit directly onto the N1 catback, or will I need the RB headers + cat/presilencer, which then connects to the N1? Thanks

Please click, dun wanna kill thread sizing =O Anyway... they came with the car. I have no idea what make they are or anything. They're kinda fat, and stick out much too much IMO.. they have a nice sound to them at least. Probably keep em for a while, cuz they're better than nothing.

Oh, and the right one is a little low and the left one can be clanky >.< http://rocky.rgamers.com/pics/car/IM000152.JPG to see just how far they stick out.

7th heaven, you will need a cat or pre silencer to go from the RB header to the N1. you wont run straight header for long, you will either get pulled over, no matter how lenient they are on emissions and noise, or you will get annoyed and do something.

they are extremely lenient here on emissions, no testing at all, and noise, but i still got pulled over for a straight pipe for noise level.

Thanks for your reply D!

Here in Florida they are cool about it too, no tests, and the only noise violation I've heard of around here are for those people with loud music/bass. My friend and I gutted his '93 Cutlas' cat and ran it with no muffler, man that was loud! If the stock headers are in good shape, ditto with the cat, then I will stay with those for now and just get the single tip N1 Catback. I'm dropping 400 bucks on FD wheels and tires tomorrow though, so no more mods till next month! Or next paycheck =p

Unless you're a crazy ****** like me!

I'm running an RB header, 2.5" test pipe and dual 2.5" piping back to ebay fat-tip mufflers. It's definitely loud and not for most people. But again, I'm crazy.

to those with the cheap ebay mufflers, when i originaly got my car it had all the stock cats (original ones) that went to 2 non existant rusted off mufflers. well the previous own gave me some random muffler that he had (some off brand, Xtera or something). so i too it to a shop and they welded on a 2.5" crush bent pipe to it and put it on my car. to me it didnt make that much difference. i was just wondering if 2 of those cheapy mufflers would be quieter that my one. i mean now its loud but doesnt seem like its as ungodly loud as people with only a single muffler make it seem. so what is loud and will having 2 cheap ebay mufflers be quieter than my 1 who-knows-where-it-came-from muffler?

yea 7th heaven, imagine that 93 cutlass, and add about 2 times the loudness, thats what it would sound like with just a header on the rotary, their extremely loud, but it does sound nice and mean with just a header, nice deep tone in the lower rpm's, just really loud
