Verts that are N/A are dogs. They look great but your only competition are civics, if that. After I did mine I considered it a completly different car and added it to my car list. Im trying to get some pics of mine up but it keeps saying the file is to big???? Any help would be appreciated.

Posting pics is aesy. Click on the browse button to attach a file (pic) and that is it. You may have to resize or compress it because there is a limit as to how big the file can be. To post the actual pic in the post, click the pic link after it has been posted originally, copy the url location, then edit your post and above the space for "your reply," look for the IMG button. Click that and paste the url link that you copied into that and click on the submit changes button on the bottom. That's how I do it at least.

Your setup is very similiar to mine. What turbo are you using. I have a TD07-25G. Any dyno runs yet? I still need to.

Here are some pics of my TII vert. These are old shots from before the swap, the only difference is that it has a TII hood and wheels on it now. I love it, sooo much nicer than an N/A vert. The conversion is worth every penny IMO.

A stock 2004 Honda civic si puts out 160 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque and weighs 2782 lbs

A stock 1988 S4 RX-7 convertible puts out 146 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque and weighs 3,003 lbs

If you do the math all you get is some kid in a Honda Civic bragging about how he just won a race against a RX-7

That is a 16 year gap in model year ... compare an 80's Vs. 80's, or early 90's.

****. if i had a turbo vert, i would be down with an automatic. 3500 stall converter, hybrid turbo, it'd be a fun little beast.

but then it'd be fun with a five-speed, too.

The guy is in aussie land. IT is a JDM import IIRC. Since all rx7s after 85 were turbo, it stands to reason that they would offer both 5 speed and automatic over there, because believe it or not, even some japanese people do not drift and shift mad quick y0.

Couple more things to add, you are comparing the slowest RX7 Vs. the fastest civic. Compare apples to apples. Either the fastest 7 The TII, with the fastest civic, the SI, or the Coupe models with the slowest 7's. the coupe model Cicic's DX, HX, CX are all rated at 115HP, and 110 LbFt Torque. and that is still with a 16 year technology edge

I think you missed my point I was replying to this post:

So we are talking about the n/a vert not the fastest RX-7

Since we are talking about the 88 n/a vert I will compare "apples to apples" with a similar model year CRX:

A stock 88-91 CRX Civic si puts out about 108 horsepower with about 100 lb-ft of torque and weighs about 2175 pounds. That equates to about 20 horsepower per pound of weight for the CRX

since a 88 S4 n/a RX-7 Convertible is 146 HP and weighs about 3003 lbs that also equates to about 20 horsepower per pound of weight for the n/a convertible RX-7

So you are not even going to smoke a similar model year CRX in a n/a RX-7 vert

yup thats correct my left wrist was badly broken a few years back and ive had ongiong treatment and 4 operations within that time frame. Though im slowly getting a bit stronger in the wrist and i'm considering going manual, im just in a tricky situation with it. I don't want to get into a situation were i go manual and can't drive it whenever i want. I do drive manual cars from time to time now, so im well on the way i guess

The performance is pretty good anyway, stall convertor gets the car off the line pretty good seeing as im not make huge power or anything, i havent changed the exhaust yet so that any fuel are holding it back alot more than the auto is.

The only time i really miss a manual is when driving hard through the hills, you just don't feel as "in conrtrol" as you should, but the rest of the time its fine and i can eat a cheese burger and drive without any effort

Also people seem to forget or don't know the auto trans that is factory fitted to the turbo cars is internally different to the n/a ones so they hold the power alot better even before you start to mod them.
