Possible trade? Need Suggestion

Ok heres the deal....I was chillin today with some family and we go over to this one dude's house who sells cars....there I see a pretty nice 2nd Gen...it was dark so I didnt see any details so Im like lookin at it and ****. I have a 94 Ford Probe GT right now so Im sort of looking to get back in the rotary world but hell....I've been driving a V6 for awhile so its some power loss I would miss....for now anyways...Lol...So back to the story...Im lookin at it and ask him what year it is...he says 1990....so Im like 'wtf...its an S5!' and I get closer and notice the front bumper and get in it and see the gauges and even test drove it....By the time i got back to his house I was like 'Wrap her up boddy' Lol....So I ask him how much he wants for it...hes like 2k....so Im like....**** my Probe has some dings and needs a paint job but as is, I bet I can get more for it cause its a 5spd V6....so I try and talk him into a trade and hes all like "nah...you'd have to give me something extra...couple of hundred" so Im like 'wtf is his problem...Lol...im tradin him a 94 for a 90....hah..." then I tell him mines V6 and all the **** and hes all like "man....i'll have to see it tommorow during the day"....

ok now the question is.....
Would you guys do it?
Trade a 1994 Ford Probe GT...runs hard and good... for a 90 S5 GXL...its bone stock with an exhaust leak from what I can tell.

Im personally undecided so Im juss wondering what you guys would do.

Just get what makes you happy, no use coming here for peoples opinions.
But if you want mine, get the damn 7. Probes are my personal most hated vehicle.

if you feel uncomfortable with his request, then just sell the probe and see if you can get more for it.

In defense of people that ARE NOT RETARDED, that flip would have happened in ANY car... that guy is a DUMBASS.

But that being said, I think there is a heavy correlation between his choice to buy an analProbe and going into a corner obviously twice the speed he could possibly even hope to take it at.

And if you guys didn't know, the Probe is not a Ford at heart.. it's a Mazda. Doesn't make it any less gay though.

I say even if you have to sell the Probe seperately, sell it and buy the S5. I'd think there's something wrong with the seller if he trades you... having owned an RX-7 I wouldn't look at a Probe twice, much less trade my car for one. Ew.

if he trades for the probe then he is the dumbass unless he sells it for 2,500 and makes money off of it

I would definitely get the FC checked out before you bought it. How many miles on it? Have you done a compression test? Obviously, being an RX-7 forum people are going to tell you to trade your Probe for the FC, but if your current car is reliable you don't want to trade it for a piece of ****.

With that said, if the FC checks out ok I would definitely go for the trade.

I actually forgot to look at the mileage but the car is bone stock and feels and looks like it has been taken care of and hasnt been ragged on alot. And to that video of the Probe.....Thats a dumb reason to hate the car.......if anything hate the n00bish driver who didnt know the limits of his car..FWD sucks....lol....thats my opinion tho...

That heavy rear end on the probe is what swung it around like that. A 7 would not have slid the rear so easily.

And yes a Probe is an MX6 with a little body mod to seperate it from the Mazda. Mod'ing a probe will not give you the return on investement that the 7 will give you.

I thought the probe/MX6 was a rear wheel drive car.

Total probe bashing going on. I can't say I like the probe, but I have owned a '93 MX6 LS. Stock for stock a Probe GT MTX is actually quicker than a N/A rx-7. A solid running and driven probe/mx6 will run a low 15 second time slip. Modding the KL03 is kinda fruitless, but it would still take some decent work (not to mention a solid motor) for a stock S4 or S5 N/A to walk on a probe/mx6.

MTX = Manual transaxle.

Transaxle = front wheel drive transmission with a built in differential.

That probe is worth around 2k blue book, but since it is a probe and an rx7 trade, I would do the same thing I would think it would be harder to sell the probe than the 7

If I was offered the deal i'd definitley go for the 7 anyday, but if you are looking for something that is going to smoke what you're driving now, i don't think the N/A 7 will do that. Not right away anyways..

I'm really against FWD cars, id rather have understeer than oversteer, i was in a friend's V6 dodge avenger and he floored it going around the turn, i thought we where going to hit the damn wall.

Huh?

FWD = understeer, keep going straight
RWD = oversteer, car spins

FWD are good for almost all weather conditions. IMO it is second to FWD in all-climate reliability. BTW what real driver will hit full throttle on a turn in a FWD car. If you do the turn you HAVE to easy off of the gas no matter how slight or major it is. You're still in a FWD car and torque steer and understeer are major issues. I learned this in my 90 maxima. Thankfully not the hard way.
