Possible tps sensor failure
My 1990 RX-7 vert idles roughly from 1000 rpm to almost 0 when warm. The dealer computer says that it codes for a Throttle postion sensor (tps). this looks easily to replace. Is it that easy?

I haven't changed one yet, but I think it's just a couple of screw/ bolts, right? The fine adjustments after install would probably take more time than the install...

It is three (3) screws and two (2) conectors. The toughest one is the screw that is under. If you can't get to the bottow screw witha 90 degree bend screw driver you might have to unbolt the upper manifold.
Time wise 20 min to 1 hr.
Setting it is not hard if you have the red & green light plug. Refer to the manual for setting.

I would try adjusting the TPS first, also check if the BAC valve is working properly. If the idle drops when you put an electrical load on then rises slowly or not at all probably the BAC.
I adjusted my TPS and cleaned the BAC which improved my idle dramatically.

im having a similar problem...i just replaced my tps becuase we were pretty sure it was shot before, and now when i start it up the rpms will shoot to 2-2500 and if i tap the gas they will settle to about 1100. once it warms up it wouldnt idle, i couldnt drive it becuase it would come down from normal rpms and die, and i figured out today that if i have the air conditioning on a little bit it wont stall out as much...im not sure if i need to recal. the tps or what....im about to check the codes as well...any help would be greatly appreciated, im getting ready to look for a damn prius.
