Is it possible for a PS swap from a miata?
Like it says, is it possible? I know the Miata has a much quicker ratio than the RX so I was wondering if its possible to use one in place of the original ps rack? Is there a way to find out specs between the two? Mounting, rack travel, pressure requirements etc, etc?

Most people remove the PS, I don't see the benefit of installing it......I also drive a miata and I want to remove it too.......what exactly do you expect to gain from it?

A quicker steering ratio. With a whole lot less effort. Go ahead and rib me for not wanting to crank at my steering wheel, and no, it isn't because I'm a weakling or anything like that. I like being able to steer easily one-handed(with the other hand on the shifter) while driving hard. It's difficult to get a very tight turn with only one hand on the wheel isn't it?

The ratio is in the rack not the pump anyways.

First off, I didn't say anything about swapping the pump itself. Second, I don't think variable power steering has anything to do with the ratio of how far you turn the steering wheel to how much the wheels turn. It's variable in how much assistance you have(how much effort it takes to turn the wheel). I do rev match, brake before turning, and usually don't shift in the middle of a turn. No offense taken about learning to drive(I carry a class A CDL, and I drive for a living), because I don't think you understood me in the first place. What I'm looking for is a rack, that travels further with less turns of the steering wheel, which will still use a pump instead of being manual operation. That's all. If it came from any other vehicle it wouldn't really matter as long as it would physically fit the location, and operate properly with my current pump, steering shaft, etc. Sorry to reply so late, but this has been the first I've been on in the last few days.
