Possible blown motor?
Driving home from school tonight the engine had a difficult time idling.
I drive the car typically about 100 miles a month. Mods are mostly listed in my signature. The car will die usually if left to idle on its own but once in accelerating everything feels fine including power delivery and feel. Is this a characteristic of side seal failure? I also switched to Idemitsu premix tonight and this car runs fully on premix. i noticed the Idemitsu was significantly different from Motul 600 which is what I typically use. Or another possibility is the Microtech which may have not been tuned properly to run at air temperatures this low.
Any other ideas such as coils or so forth or other tests I can do besides a compression test (which is on the way)? Thanks in advance.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Sounds like the BAC and TPS are not set up correctly in the Microtech.
I wouldn't expect a blown motor if the problem is only poor idle, but a compression check would tell you for sure.

Yea it'll die on its own when I come to a stop even when the engines warm. No vacuum leaks because the car would still idle.
Icemark- The car has 3 or 4 vacuum lines total. It has no emissions and no accessories. The only thing the microtech is corresponding with is the single piston TPS. I'd love to better tune the microtech but theres absolutely no support in my area. I guess I'll have to do a compression check. Thanks.

Do you have a wideband or anything? How does the car idle prior to dieing? Does it hunt or seem to roam around? Just kind of sound like put put put like minor backfires constantly/shake a bit?

No BAC, twin scroll, emission anything, cold assist etc etc.
The car idled with a bit of a lope before dying but always stayed on. It hunts RPMs pretty low now around 450-700 Seems to be in 2-3 sec cycles.

What type of vacuum are you pulling now? Compare that with any readings you remember from before this was happening. And if you have no emissions, it doesnt hurt to pop everything off and give it some rtv or new gaskets just in case since it is so easy without any emissions!
