Is it possible...

Is it possible to be getting x lbs of boost, but not see the full horsepower that x lbs should put out? What I mean is, can I be getting the 5.5-6lbs of boost i should be getting, but not be as fast as I should be, and could it be a problem with the turbo?

so you mean is it possible that (for example) your boosting 6lbs of boost, but only be as fast as another TII w/ same mods boosting 4lbs?

Yeah...If youre running hot or if your IC is heat soaked, youll still show the same boost but youll have less power than you would if you were running lower temps and a cool IC.

At least I think thats what youre asking

Assuming both cars have the same turbo and IC, adam has it right. When you change the turbo setup, you have to factor in pressure loss of the IC (possibly) and CFM of the turbo. (I hope this doesn't start another argument...it tends to) You also have to factor in fuel mixture...a car running really rich will have less power than one running lean, within the limits of detonation.

Well its just that I am showing on the stock boost gauge what I should be showing but my car is not as fast as it should be. I am going to go back to the track(now that I have my tires) and see how far off it is now but it still doesnt seem fast as it should. I need to get my boost gauge installed along with some other stuff. If I get my dp/mp and everything in and I am not in the mid 14s I will have to try the ATF trick unless it could possibly be a turbo problem.
