Question porting a stock 87 intake mani....

just wondering.....
would i just gasket match intake ports... hone the hole out just enough to match the gasket, in a nut shell??
i know there are many other posts ( loooong posts) about this but im asking a quick question..... and also would i have to mess with my idle after i re-install? if so, would i have to mess with the tps too ?
sorry that one question turned into 3
sorry
jack

Ideally, you'd have ported the intake runner at the block and then you lay the gasket over that port and cut it to match. Then you take that gasket back to the intake manifold and scribe or ink/dye the port onto the manifold and blend the edge to that line. You want to avoid drastic changes in the contour of the runner.
