porting question

porting question

im thinking about porting my rotary with a street port but i dont know anything about the process or what it does for the performance aspects what does it do and whats the average running price for the job

If you don't know anything about the process or what it does, why do you want to do it?

Long story short is that it requires engine disassembly. If your engine is running well and making good compression, it's generally not worth pulling it apart. Also if you have a TII then you will need mods to support the increase in power so keep that in mind as well.

Here's a pretty good book to get your started.

MAZDA RX 7
Performance Handbook
Mike Ancas
ISBN # 0-7603-0802-0

It's a few years old, but he goes into what certain mods to. Talks about the different generations and such. Not the end all be all, but a good reference. also Racing beat prints a technical catalogue. Sometimes you can get them to give you a free copy, other times you have to pay for it. That's a really good source for tech details.
