Porting Exhuast manifold
I've considered wieght reduction but i drive my car everyday and alot and i've gotten rid off all i want to and am down to 2510 lbs. What I was getting at with the porting idea was that i have 3inch pipe right off the manifold for about 18 inches and then 18 of 2.5, to the rb catback which is dual 2.25 so the most restrictive part left is that manifold
the only conclusive test is to do a before and after dyno. i had thought of this a long time ago being that headers are so ridculously loud that just putting headers on my car ruined my driving experience, but could of been due to a few exhaust leaks why it was so loud but i thought that the car sounded a bit better with the stock manifold on, i figure it couldnt hurt to port the sucker so just do it and dont listen to what others say. see for yourself, i dont see any downside to doing it....go for it. prove them all wrong or right, it wont matter, atleast the manifold will weight less and wont sound like a lawnmower like headers do.
Alright i just want to apologize if i pissed anyone off sayin they were stupid i just get fustrated when i ask a question and get incoplete answers and then people get pissed. Since it doesn't seem like anyone has seen any negative results with doin it i'm, gonna do it this week and will tell you all what i think
its a waste of time, thats the results. like i said, the exhaust makes a sudden 90 degree turn. plus, gutting the cats would be a better idea. unles you already did that, than thats fine. but until you get a header, people are gonna wonder why the hell you spent the time on modifying a manifold that its horribly misschapen. its not that nothing lines up or that it has rough inner wals or **** like that, if you smoothen it out, there will be no affect. now, porting the tb and the im will yeild results. because someone has tried.
its like trying to make an airfulkter adapter out of an old afm. it looks good in theory, but in reality, is just a plain pain in the *** and a waste of time.

well already did the tb porting, but i don't see why it would not help to make the opening at the back of the manifold bigger, like match it to the gasket, kinda take the hole that the exhauast exits the manifold throught and take it from whatever size it is now to about a 1/4 inch in diameter larger.
