Porting a 50K motor?

Damn. The more I think about It the more upset I am with my self how I did not port my S4 rebuit motor for my GXL.

It has 50k on It, runs beautifully but I want to have It street ported. My Intake and exhaust Is done up so I want to have It ported to fully MAXIMIZE the potential of an N/A motor.

If I have this done, will all the seals etc. have to be relaced with brand new ones? Or can all of these be used again, providing that they are still "usable"? Any other Implications or suggestions?

Any help as to how to make my motor have more ZOOM would be great!

you need to at least replace water orings and oil orings and dowel rod orings. i would replace all springs just because (except oil control ring ones). some people re-use apex seals but i wouldnt recommend it

Basically sorry dude just get another rebuilt ported motor cause when you take apart a motor you break alot of seals that have to be replaced like niner said so dont think you can take everything out like a piston engine and put it back together like nothing happened i would try to sell it and then gather up rest of funds to get a mega streetport sounds good to me...

If your careful and your engine is in good condition, I say go for it! However, If I was going to basicaly take apart my engine, I would replace all of the seals, o-rings, and other parts that are prone to ware.

You could take it apart and port it by just buying a Gasket kit ~$300 thats all thats needed to do a rebuild assuming all your rotor parts are fine, and if its running corectly right now that means they are.

On the other hand 50k on a rebuild is getting close to time for another rebuild if you run it real hard.. so you might as well do the rotors also.

Yeah, I kind of had the feeling you were going to say that.

Well, if you do do a rebuild, then you know that your internals are in good shape and you have no worries.
