HEY GUYS ITS ME AGAIN.
I WANT TO DO SOME PORTING JOB ON MY 1988 RX-7 N/A.
MAZDA TRIX ARE **** AN DSAYITS ALMOST IMPSOIBBLE TO DO IT DO TO ITS 6 PORTS AND HARD METAL ( ITHINK THEY ARE JSUT LAZY BITCHES )
RCAING BEAT SELLS TEH TEMPALTES FOR 23.99 I THINK THAT INCLUDES BOTH TEH EXHUST AND INTAKE PORTING TEMPLETAS.
ATKINSROTARY HAS THE PORTING KIT
MY DAD HAS TEH GRINDER
NOW WHAT ELSE DO I NEED? I SAW A THREAD WHERE TEH GUY TOLD U STEP BY STEP HOW TO DO IT AND EVRYHNG BUT HSI WAS A S5 NOT AS4. I NEED STEP BY STEP INSTUCTIONS FOR A 86-88 NOT A 89-91 . CAN ANYONE HELP ME? I HAVE 150 BUCKS IF SOEMONE WANTS TO DO IT FOR ME FOR THAT PRICE PM ME AND WE WORK SOMEHTING OUT.

If you need step by step instructions, you are not capable of pulling off the project. Porting is very straightforward, just time consuming.

Yes but you must know when to stop. The 6 port housings have less cast then the 4port but im on a 6port porting project with my meckanic. Pics dont work here. Emial me and Ill show you how far mine are. Just took them today.

Yes Mazdatrix are gay lazy bastards. They say they do not have the money to spend on tuning a 6port ported housing when the two ports are made into one large one. My engine is almost done so I will let everyone know in a few weeks after break in period how much power it makes.

Von, did you actually read what they had to say about that port? The problem was with the power peak being beyong the limits of the engine. That port has roughly the same duration as a PP, but opens(and therfore closes) a good bit later. I hope you built your engine for 10K if you plan to use the powerband from that port...

I don't see why just making the two ports 'join up' with each other would raise the powerband much..
I would've though that only if you made it open later it would raise the powerband?

Why not just start grinding away however you wish? Since those people who have been doing mods for any number of years are not up to your standards, just grab your grinder and have at it. Let us know how it turns out.
