ported manifolds and TB observations

I put on my gasket-matched ported intake manifolds..........(lower and upper)
-TB with the TB mod done
-rats nest removal...cold start....bacv....MOP
-removing 5th and 6th port inserts (have had them wired open anyway),
-new silicone vacuum lines (the very few i now need)
-ran new fuel line
This is on a stock port engine with low miles,no cats or airpump, header and straight piped exhuast, filter (soon to be custom CAI), and running good with no problems and 25 MPG.
I noticed a huge increase in throttle response, it was much more responsive sitting there playing with the gas, and on dirt the RPMs would climb alot faster than before and spin the tires alot. it took hardly 1/2 throttle or less to jump very quickly from 3k to 5k+ in RPMs on the dirt. before it woouldnt rev as fast. if i give it full throttle the reponse isnt as noticeable but still there. On the street, it seems like it revs faster under normal daily accerlation. I cant tell a huge difference in "fast", like it made the car much faster, but the response is definatly alot better and i noticed none if any loss in low end from removing the 5th/6th sleeves. I will be going to the strip again to see if my 1/4 times have improved any. i recoomend this mod to anyone becuase i noticed quite a difference. now which one of my mods made the biggest difference im not sure (TB mod, ported manifolds, etc). but you can do everything i did very cheap all at once.

Also, i havent noticed any downfalls so far with the rats nest removal. i did it all without having any vacuum leaks, and it starts just as easy, idles BETTER, and hot starts arent any harder.

i didnt want the downtime so i bought some already ported ones that came with ALL gaskets and blockoffplates and such. i dont have pics of the manifolds "insides" but i have pics of the cleaned up engine bay and manifolds installed if interested.

another tip: get a wirebrush kit for a dremel and use that to clean up your manifolds and TB and alternator, and every othe rmetal peice. doesnt polish it to a shine, but cleans it up to look a hell of alot better than oxidized aluminum.

ok, post a pic because I am curious of this dremel cleaning method. My oxidized metal is starting to anger the bling gods.

Plus I like a clean engine bay.

my engine bay still isnt clean becuase the plastic pieces and other stuff is very dirty and has that orange coolant dried on it and i cant get it off. so the only clean parts are the manifolds as of now LOL. ill get pics of the TB 2mrow
