To port, or not to port
The turbo wastegate that is.
So today I finished working on my car which I've been doing the past few days. Over 20 hours of work. Ugh. New ACT street/strip clutch, RB "Rev TII" exhaust, RB FCD, and an Autolite boost gauge. BTW, I'm happy to say I got the flywheel nut off all by myself... with the help of 2 cheater bars(crowbar and a 10 inch piece of 2 inch square tubing).
After driving my car, I must say... sweet! For all you people who question how much of a difference a full exhaust makes... your answer is a lot. I know this may have been covered before, but it's not my point.
I realize that with the addition of my new exhaust, I should port my wastegate, get larger secondary injectors, upgrade fuel pump and get a fuel controller. Don't worry, I have plans for that.
Right now, my new boost guage is showing me that under full throttle, my turbo is only pushing 6 psi. It creeps to only about 8 or 9 psi at the most.
So my question is, do I really need to port my wastegate right now? Or can I hold off awhile since the boost levels are rather low? Because, before the end of this year, I plan on sending my turbo off to BNR and getting a stage 2 or 3 hybrid upgrade, Rtek 2.0, 720 prim., 1000sec., intake(which I am going to do real soon), Walbro 255 LPH and that's all I can think of right now. So I could either port the wastegate now, or have it done later when I send the turbo off to upgraded. Though, I think when I get a new intake, my boost levels will rise a little, so maybe I should hold off on the intake untill I do the other things, yes?
I'm sorry if this has been covered, I have been reading as much as I can and I am trying to do things as best I can. Thanks for you time and help.

Yeah, I've just read that a lot though. It always seems like people recommend extra things, but probably to help keep people from destroying their engines. But I will be getting larger inhjectors in the future. But do you think I must port it as soon as I can? How long do you think it will take to remove my turbo? I just have to remove my downpipe don't I? Or do I need to remove the UIM and LIM? Either way, I guess it won't be too bad, just tight.
