To port or not to port
I am in progress of a TII swap. I will be receiving my motor next week from BDC who completed my rebuild with streeport. I will be obtaining a TII complete exhaust from RB, K&N FIPK intake kit, and everything else will be stock. It will have a brand new TMIC and brand new 89-91 OEM turbo.
Should I get the wastegate ported?
If yes, who does this for a reasonable price?
Thanx in advance,
Michael

I ported my wastegate myself, so i cant tell you who does it... but definitely port the wastegate... That is... if you can afford a FCD and prolly a fuel computer too...
My huge *** ported motor that recently decided it needed to go into a car with no fuel comp almost never starts w/o flooding... it took me some ECU mods to get it to start good LoL... And its a NA! And thats the problem with ported motors... ported WG's just need a FCD to keep from constant overboost.
(plus pulling like mad through all the gears is nice )

You are going to need a boost gauge.
You will definately have dangerous boost creep if you dont port the waste gate. That motor will flow way better than a stock setup. I dont know what kind of ECU your using but you are going to need a FCD or a Rteck chip.
Learn from my experience. That setup you have listed will not last very long before you blow a apex seal.

Have them (*_*)
I should have mentioned them before. I have a Apexi boost guage and the Rtek chip. I will be upgrading the chip to a 1.5 or hopefully a 2.0. I also have a HKS SSQV blow off valve and will have a greddy boost controller.
Thanx

DEFINATLY a fuel pump, and DEFINATLY a fuel compy, or your new motor will be needing replacing soon after your break-in. You will be creeping to 12-13 easily with the RB exhaust(if its a turboback) and intake without the port, with the port it would probably be even worse, so you might as well port the wastegate as big as you can get it while its off, maybe even get a larger flapper door.

If u do port the s5 wastegate u will have to increase the flapper size. from the factory the flapper barely cover the hole as it is. Thats why people w/ s4 motors will upgrade to a s5 turbo and manifold, also because they made a few other changes to the turbo that helped increase boost in lower rpms.
