port conversion

I read that with gutted cats in need to do a 5/6th port conversion conversion what the hell is that

I don't even know where to begin...

Get the Factory Service Manual from the FAQ and look at the intake manifold drawings for the non-turbo. The NA cars have auxillary intake ports which open above about 3800 RPM or so based on exhaust pressure. If you open up the exhaust, it will no longer have the appropriate pressure and you will need to find a way to open up the ports.

This only applies to S4 NAs.

There are topics in the Archives covering port actuation.

A search for "aux ports", "5th and 6th ports", "port actuation" and variations will turn up all the info you need. The search ALMOST ALWAYS contains the info you are after.
