Popping noise at over 6K RPM

Okay, someone see if they can tell me why my car's doing this. Anytime I'm decide to let the car wind out higher than 6K RPM it pops when I hit the clutch and let the revs drop down. Sounds like it just backfires once and then it fine till I wind out the next gear. Help?

I got a good backfire tonight. I'd been working on the car all afternoon and took her out for a test drive about 9:45. Got onto the main road...wound out first, BEEP! let off, POW! shift. It was great. Woulda been a huge fireball if I didnt have my cat. Gotta love the afterburn!

yea, I love that nice loud POP! with the 1-2 shift. I Even get it on the others, but I don't get to wind those out too often. I'd like to wind them, but damn those cops and speed limits!

the big pops are usually flames.
my car does the same thing. the bad ones sound like a shot gun. and its great to see people jump. lol
if im going up hill and i give it alot of gas, and the motor is at like 2-3k, and i let off, and then tap the gas, i can get a big pop.
and if im going downhill on a highway or something, if i tap the gas barly, it pops on command. and of course pushing through grears it does.

im assuming its just cause we are running rich.

cant complain though =)

best thing to do:

wait till a rice boy gets behind your car when its on, rev really fast, and backfire at 8300. its so fun to watch them jump and hit the ground or run away
