Pop Up Hoods
ok here is the thing. the hood serves a good purpose. but only people who know anything about car would know that. all these f*cking little teenagers in there civics would be like holy crap and start doing that **** to there cars. In that case if it starts a trend then it makes it ricey.
wow that was stupid saying if its a trend its ricy what is alot of trends, putting exhaust on your car putting an intake on your car, giving it camber, rims, ect. ect. so if you have any of these you are officaly rice well i guess im rice then cuz i have exhaust and an intake
i have not done this but im pretty sure you take your henges off put a plate under it and bolt it back on. And no im pretty sure you will not have to move your latch the front stays where it is mabe moves like less than a mm. back so it wouldnt affect your latch. you can get them on the link above the 2nd pic. for an rx-7
here is another picture this is a nicce look i think, different(who have you ever seen with this) and accualy doesn something accept look cool(if you think it looks cool) unlike many other things is alot like winker lights they accept the majority of people with winkers doesnt modify there lights to even bring air in, that would mean cutting a little and getting rid of the black plastic or cutting that

I think that last pic was kinna ricey because the hood already had vents to pull hot air from the engine bay...makes the raised hood redundant and pointless, which falls under my "rice" catagory, but only slightly.
I voted rice since I don't think it provides enough benefit to be worth doing unless you want someone to look at your car like it's broke. Same problem as the people who refuse to put any wheels bigger than 15" on their car b/c it slows them down 1/2 a second in the quarter mile. If I saw it on the road, I would automatically think rice.
rx-7blazin, we are in the same side of the boat. i'm just waiting for the weekend to get some time and take some pictures... i am going to do this... plus mount my AFM directly to my throttle body. if it dont work, OR if i 'think' it looks broken in person i will take it off. even if it's raised half an inch it will be barely noticable. bah. like i said. i'll take pics and give my word up close and personal.

the only time i would do this is drag racing. for simplicity, just add some washers to the back bolt on each side to prop it up. it does look ghetto though and is redundant when done to all these cars with vents already in the hood. if you want airflow out of there anyway, just remove the rear seal and maybe add a washer or two to create a slightly bigger gap without it looking like you were in a front end collision and never got the hood fixed. don't forget the this is also going to allow any loose contents in the engine bay to grace your windshield with their presence. oil, dirt, coolant, electrical tape, small farm animals etc.

ight thanks are you fabricating a panel or buying it?? - Rx7Blazin-
I am going to make a plate from home depot / lowes home improvement stores. It can be done with a simple aluminum plate and a drill... and a couple extra bolts.
I removed the seal yesterday, and just doign that i can feel the air being pushed out from the E-fan. i am not going to make it as dramatic as those pictures when i do raise my hood. I am only going to raise it.. half inch at most.

and of course if it doesnt work, or if it turns out incredibly crappy... than i'll buy them. they are 30$ at aerodyne online stores.
But that's all they are... a 4" x 2" metal plate with some holes drilled into it. than if it still turnes out incredibly crappy, or i dont like the looks, i'll just removed them all together. simple.

It just looks like the hood is broken................... I don't like it, whether it serves a purpose or not. I think the majority of those car would look much better with their hood bolted down. IMO
