well, tell you what you guys.

THis weekend i am going to buy the mounts... (for the hood) and i am going to try the whole intake system/setup. I will let you guys know and will take pictures of what the whole thing looks like. who knows maybe it will yeild an extra 3-4 HP lol.. and will prolly get some heat out from the under hood area.

Another member did this last year.

It needs to boxed on the bottom & sides with a rain drain and sealed to a louvered inlet in the hood near the cowl area.

Another option is to use the (inoperative on S5's) brake duct & connect it to a cold air filter box

 

yes, but simply mounting the Mass air flow sensor along with a conical filter directly to the throttle body should not hurt anything... right?

i will design a cold air box in the future, i just want to see if this set up will acctually work.. (cowl unduction hood / short ram intake = 1 HP!!! YEAH!

Yup - the faster you go, the more it pumps.

FWIW: the VDI effect is said to create the equivalent of a 1.5 PSI charge that yields > 10 HP.

With some creativity and thinking (requires brain power)...
I could... or anyone COULD make those mounts. (hardware store) Looks like just a simple peice of aluminum plate.. which is probably WAY less than 30$

and of course, if it doesnt work, just buy the REAL things.

ok rotorys are HOT, hot air rises and air comes through the radiatior pusing the hot air out the hood. also when you get the ram air you are putting cold air in the engine compartment i see no disadvantages in this accept mabe your windows fogging(Buy Fog Ex) and mabe your ac will not blow as cold or good(l live in texas and have no ac just windows and a sun roof)
