poor braking in my 7

i have a GX S4, and the panic stops feel so-so, they didn't lock on a dime like my old GSL-SE, at any speed it would lock its wheels. But with my S4 it feels like threshold braking. Note it doesn't have anti lock.

Are GX brakes naturally so-so? or is there something wrong with my car? Well i pulled off the rear wheels and the disks weren't vented! but i dont think it would make it feel mushier than a vented disk if its not hot.

any ideas on making it lock up easier?

Change your fluid that stuff does get nasty after a while. it is amazing how so meany people do not change there fluid. You may have some hard pads that need heated up aswell to help out.

Yeah, my brakes were pretty crappy, and then my brake booster, and master cylinder went out same night.. I decided to just do the whole shabang and get new pads and drain ALL of the fuid on the whole system plus new master and brake booster. HUGE difference in braking felt like a new car almost!

The fluid that came out was super gross i didnt think it could ever get that bad.

could by a big boot for right foot only if you wanna save cash. make you faster and stop quicker and you can lend it to the cops or judge when you have a big smash.
or you could get new pads fluid check your calipers ect are working properly but if you have to ask i would take it to a mechanic.

Change the brake fluid if you haven't done so for a long time. It could also be your brake master cylinder. Mine had the same problem and it was leaking from there, so I replace it to a new one and problem solved. Make sure you bleed the brakes too.

Yes, as its just like you were bleeding the brakes. and then just run new fluid into it and do that on all sides. it takes a lot of brake fluid, so be prepaired, and some good amount of time.
