Plugs and Intake Air Temps
3 quick questions:
1.) When is it necessary to change to colder plugs? Which are the most common?
2.) What is the maximum safe limit of intake air temperatures measured at through the IAT on the throttle body elbow.
3.) How well do rotaries do with race gas? I'm thinking of mixing a 1:3 ratio of pump/race gas at the track in a week and a 1/2
I have the following mods:
-BNR Stage 4
-Walbro 255
-750/1000cc injectors
-Rtek 2.1
-3" TID
-3" cat-less turbo-back exhaust
-Wideband O2
I'm currently running 5psi (boost reference is from the turbo outlet), and I'm going to attempt to run 10psi on the stock TMIC.

You could run all BUR9EQ's and be okay. A lot of turbo owners do it that way. I wouldn't go colder than that, or you'll have some serious carbon fouling issues.
Don't know about the other 2 questions.

People do run colder plugs than 9's, but I'm not convinced it's necessary on most setups. I used to run 10's, but they were a pain in the *** because they required a special socket.
As for IAT's at the elbow, with my FMIC I try to stay under 54C/130F, and usually run between 105F and 120F (40-49C) when it's warm outside. The maximum limit is going to depend on fuel quality, AFR, and timing.

I'll buy another set of 9s. I'll be running 93 octane. Timing is stock for now. I'm just trying to maximize the potential of my setup before I can afford my water/meth. kit.
