Please recommend supplier for new Thermostat

Is the Mazda factory thermostat necessary, or are
aftermarket ones acceptable?
Who is a good source?
Thanks!

I have heard from more then a few people that the Mazda thermostat is the best one. I a running a cheap-*** Stant from Checkers, but I am changing that soon.

Mazda brand always fits. If you get sometning else, check the reach dimension of the spring loaded disc under the stat. It controls the bypass flow (for high revs). I had an aftermarket stat that didn't seat on the bypass port. It gave symptoms like a partially blocked radiator.

I've heard (but never used) that the 180 deg. ones from Victoria british are decent also.
