please look!@ fuel problem? starts up, then stalls right away

okay, i got a 89 tII, my car was running fine, all of a sudden i go to hit the throttle and it lost rpms and the engine almost shut off. so i give it a minute, goto hit the throttle again. and it stalls, now it will not start up again. when i crank the car it acts like its gonna start, , but as soon as it starts it stalls again. it will start up for about 1 second and then shut off its acting like the fuel has been shut off or something. and like i said before, it was running fine then when i hit the gas it stalled. and has not started up since. always does the same thing. starts up then shuts off. its not actually running only cranks over, rpms go up to idle, then shuts off. has anyone had a problem like this before? or know where i could start? i checked the fuel pump. its running fine, but i noticed that the pump is only actually on when its in crank position, as if i am starting the car. it does not come on in the accessory position. what does this mean? please help, any information would be really appreciated.

i had the same problem.. the previous owner messed with the wiring for the fuel pump and hard wired the relay directly to the battery anyways the shitty connection came apart so when the car would start it wouldnt keep the fuel pump running to give the car gas. so id say check your relay but im a noob what do i know lol

Check the AFM connection at your airbox.if it Starts and Dies,it could be that your AFM is either Disconnected or on a tilt.

From my experience, this would either be a major vac. leak or a bad connection with your AFM. Carefully look around your engine-bay and look for obvious vac. leaks, check all clamps/connections around the turbo especially.

If you have a SAFC (or other piggy-back ECU) installed, make sure that the wiring isn't all jacked up--or make sure that the harness isn't disconnected (severing the AFM connection at the ECU).
