my advice:

sell/trade both those motors and get the right motor for your car. then come back and get tips on passing smog, or even better do a search

Just drop in the 87 motor and plug everything back in... But you need to use the 87's MOP and you need to remove the MOP from the 91 motor and just leave it plugged in.... IF you have emmissions on the car, then that should be no prob.

you can use the 87 TII engine without a huge amount of trouble, but it wont make as much power as the s5 one did

why not put the jspec in and cheat on the smog test? if its a fresh motor, you should be able to pass with it, especially if you use alcohol and all the other little tricks
