Please help. smog im fuxd

ok hes the story, i bought a 91 t2. the oil rings are shot smoke up the ass, so i need to pass smog, but i wanted to buy the jspec. well i have a 88gtu na full motor that i could put in just to pass smog , would that work? and if so how hard to do the swap. and i also have a 87 t2 full engine that i could drop in for the smog , how hard would that swap be? any sugestions would help. or if anyone knows a very nice smog shop in Nor cal let me know .

my advice:

sell/trade both those motors and get the right motor for your car. then come back and get tips on passing smog, or even better do a search

Just drop in the 87 motor and plug everything back in... But you need to use the 87's MOP and you need to remove the MOP from the 91 motor and just leave it plugged in.... IF you have emmissions on the car, then that should be no prob.

o i c

you can use the 87 TII engine without a huge amount of trouble, but it wont make as much power as the s5 one did

thanx. i just need it to pass smog then put 91 jspec in.

patman 10-01-05 07:35 PM

why not put the jspec in and cheat on the smog test? if its a fresh motor, you should be able to pass with it, especially if you use alcohol and all the other little tricks
