i have an 87 turbo and its dumping gas and oil so im pulling the engine and rebuilding it. does any one know about how much it will cost and what i will need. Also because im pulling it i think it would be wise to make it faster so any suggestions on cheap power would be nice.

im doing the exact same thing w/ my 89 gtu. go ahead and port it. get a dremel tool from someone, im borrowing mine from my boss at work. and get some templates and port away. its a great gain, 30-50 hp

 

Where do you get the template from? I am thinking of porting my intake over X-MAs break, I just need the templates!

 

ive never seen intake templates. thats just as easy as looking. id be sure to measure the ports to the manifold to make sure they match up well, and port accordingly. im just gonna eye ball the intake manifolds, and smooth them out, but ill be careful when it comes to matchin them up. dont forget to match the gaskets too! and the templates i was talkin about can be found at www.mazdatrix.com or www.racingbeat.com. they are for the inside of the engine.
