I have a 1986 Mazda RX-7 (i have no clue if its turbo or anything though) and sometimes when im driving my car will start shaking. It also happens when its idling in drive. My RPMs go to about five hundred and it smells bad during this. When it happens while im driving the car can go about 10-15 MPH. I also get horrible gas mileage. I brought the car to a mechanic then i brought it to a mazda dealership and they found nothing wrong. Can someone please give me some insight?

im thinkin about running straight pipes. how much of a horsepower increase would that run me? do you think it would solve my problem??

 

Straight pipes are cheap. I would guess like 350 bux to have it custom made. But we need more info bro that might not be it. Plus you would proly loose the auxilary port actuation if you just get a race pipe. Under what circumstances does the car do that?
