PLEASE HELP ME START MY CAR! TII swap, wiring related
First off, I apologize. I have searched, asked questions, and searched some more. Flame me if you want, but what I am hoping for is some help with lamen's terms answers here. I consider myself a pretty intelligent person, but for the life of me, electricity (especially wiring) is a concept I can BARELY grasp at best. I have an 88 convertible I just put an 87 TII motor/ drivetrain into. I used the n/a harness, I have no emissions, and do not want to use the knock sensor. I need to wire in four 10 ohm/ 10 watt resistors for my fuel injectors. From my pic you can see my TII ecu, and my computer with the FSM up on the screen. ALL I WANT TO KNOW is 1) which wires are 1R and 2K if I am looking at the ECU's pins? I need to cut and tape these off. The ecu has three plugs (10, 18, & 24 prongs). I found pin 2K (L/B wire) in the FSM. It appears to be the fourth from the left in the top row on the connector with 18 pins. Does this mean ON the ECU, or ON the harness side? I cannot find pin 1R anywhere either. Also, I bought the resistors for the fuel injector wires from radio shack. They look like a piece of clay with a solid wire coming out of each end. Which wires do these get soldered to (looking at the ECU again)? And does solid wire stick to stranded wire while soldering? I am sorry if that is the dumbest question ever, but I would rather know for sure since I am not an electrician. I assume they just get soldered in line. So in short, I want to know the location of the six pins on the ecu i need to find so that I can finish the wiring and do a big burnout down the road. Thanks to all who read and help with this. I'm sorry if this is considered bumping my thread, but I figured out some of this on my own. I "saw the light" as far as reading a wring schematic, so I know I have tracked down and cut the correct wires at 1r and 2k for my setup. I need to solder in the 10 ohm 10 watt injector resistors now, and just wanted to double check one thing: DO THE RESISTORS GO ON PINS 3C, 3E, 3F, & 3H? And does it matter how close i put them to the ecu? Thanks again everyone

I thought about this. The operating temp range on the resistors I bought looks like it would be okay for underhood use. Do the resistors themselves get hot while in use? What I mean is could I bundle the resistor right in with the two wires leading to the injector and tape it all together safely? Or do I need to give it some "breathing room"?
