Please help me out!!! Engine smokes/stalls!
I own a 86 na with 140000 miles on it. I just bought the car recently, and after a while of driving I started to notice a few key things:
- I would go through about a quart of oil every 2 days.
- After letting the car sit for 2+ hours it would smoke for a bit when I started it.
Ok now, one day I let it sit for like a week without running it, and when I went to start it many bad things happened. First it started up ok, i gave it a bit of gas, and then it started smoking very badly, and wouldnt stop. Then it started to stall when I let off the gas. Now the same stuff happens, I try to run it for a while till all the smoke burns out but it never does.
So what do you pros recomend?

uh oh
Sounds like your oil seals are fried. I encountered the same problem with my first gen. You have two choices.....rebuild the motor...or buy a j-spec motor in my opinion would be a better idea. Hope this helps.

J-spec is a little harder, since they are only avaiable in turbo II version, which would require the computer to be swapped out, along with all of the driveline, and a bunch of ther parts. Rebuild it, or get a rebuilt mazda engine.
