TX Please help me identify this light switch

I have a 90 convertible and my brights are not working.

When i pull the bright switch with the lights off, i get my FTP lights that are non-latching. Same applies with the lights up, but off.

When i pull the bright switch with my lights ON, absolutely nothing happens

I have done some searching about this problem, and the best answer i have come up with was a quote from one of Icemark's posts saying something along the lines of "S5 for S5, S4 for S4"

So help me identify if this switch is a s5 or s4. I know its not what was originally in the car due to the junkyard marker =] That, and all the plastic mounts being destroyed

And the money shot...

If this has been covered elsewhere, I apoligize for the repost. I haven't been able to use any searched threads to fix the problem properly. If it matters, i have added the relay to the light harness for parking lights.

You really need to be looking at the Dimmer relay instead of the light switch. And or looking to see if the high filiments are blown out in the headlights themselves.

Like go to the Dimmer relay and see if it's getting a ground put on its white wire when the dimmer switch is toggled. See the series five wiring diagrams.

All that switch in your hand does, is put a ground on the Headlight relay when you turn the headlights on. Well it also causes 'em to come up or go down, but as far as them lighting up, your just putting a gnd on the headlight relay to turn the lights on. When you go to High/low, your putting a gnd on the Dimmer relay with the other switch (dimmer passing switch).

Go touch your dimmer relay with the headlights up and someone toggeling the dimmer passing switch. It should be clicking when you do that, proving your putting a gnd on the dimmer relay.......or not. See free online series five wiring diagrams.
