Please help. Finally started my car, 88 se, then it died
i finally started my car that had been sitting for years, it was last used by my sister. i got it jumped started it and was pleased to see it start, then i tried to move it, and it died. completely dead no power. I jumped it again and it ran until I turned it off, and then once again it was completely dead. this is why my sister stopped using it in the first place. I dont know much about cars, but it would seem to me that it is an alternator problem;perhaps the battery? I mean what else would cause it to do that? My sister told me that this was why she put it in the garage, that she tried to get it fixed got fed up with people not knowing what was wrong with it, so know I am wondering, could it be a bigger problem? I am trying to get this car running, for good so I need all the help I can get. thanx

A couple of things:
Sounds like you have a bad battery and perhaps battery connections. If you jump started the car and removed the cables and the battery has more than a couple bad cells you may have damaged the alt as well.
Its common on most cars to have weak grounds from the factory, add 15 years to them and they are down right pathetic. One of the first things you do (after a full tune up) is to replace the grounds. That may solve the electrical problem.
Did you drain and replace the gas in it???
Any gas sitting around for "years" is most likely bad

both have the FSM online so you can check out the entire car
A haynes manual is also helpfull incase you don't have a laptop
www.howstuffworks.com search for wankel or rotary engine and you will find some good info.
