Please Help (coolant loss)

i was leaving today and ~30 seconds after i started the car i got that lovely little buzz from the coolant buzzer. i pulled back in my driveway and filled it up. now symptoms, when i run the engine out to redline or high rpm under load i will hear a spraying sound for maybe a second or so around ~5800 rpm, also i get a wiff of coolant when running the revs out. also when i looked under my hood there seems to be coolant residue on the oil filter and surrounding areas and judging by the pattern it seems to be comming from the direction of the throttle body. do any of you have any idea what the cause might be?

most likely a coolant line blowing through. If their old replace them. also check tightness of clamps and such. You might try warming it up in the driveway and with the hood open, run the R's up and look for the spray of stream. Just a sugggestion---good luck

The hose that runs from under the intake manifold to the top of it did this to me and It left residue around the filter and all over the firewall. Try the above suggestion, but this was the hose that went out on my seven.

Yep. Deff check your hoses. The spraying sound would be pressure release which would cause coolant to spray.

i was back out there poking under my hood and found it. it's the line that comes into the throttle body and disapears down under the UIM. any idea how much of a bitch this line is to replace? i'll be talking to mazda tommorow to get another one.

That was the line that broke on mine. Its like 10 bucks from the dealer. You just gotta pull off the UIM. Pretty easy just tedious
