Please help

I just got a 89 turbo 2 and im having a bit of trouble with it.......

When I first start it, it idles fine but after it warms up a bit it idles low and rough and after a while it kills and doesnt idle at all.

I just got it so all i know about the car is that the first turbo went bad and got oil everywhere in the engine.....and the second turbo is rebuilt and the previous owner just put it in without any miles really on the new one.

I have to wait to order a haynes manual so i dont have any sort of book to look at for about a week

Any help at all would be great....thanks in advance

Download for FREE the factroy service manual. The URL are on this site in the thread called FAQ at the very beginning of this second gen site.

Save yourself some time. Just download the FUEL seciton for your car.

I'd start with the Intake Air System in the FUEL section. It deals with the Fast Idle Operation. You have the symptoms of a mal adjusted one.

A close second would be the BAC to see if it's any good. And a close second and a half would be the timing with a timing light.

How WHOLE is this engine? Did the previous owner brag about how he MODED the engine and removed junk off it? If he did, then I'd start worrying.

About the oil. Do you mean oil is all over the outside of the engine/bay or that there is a large amount of oil inside the intercooler. When you remove the intercooler and stand it on end, does a oil puddle form?

Do the free download I mentioned or buy a used FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL off ebay/where ever.

Why don't you scan the error codes???

It just takes a piece of wire...literally.
