Please explain to me!

Ok, I have downloaded the FSM and I want to check my TPS. But the explanation in the FSM isn't very clear to me. Could someone put the steps in laymans terms so I can understand them better?

The car is an 89 GTU.

I also would like to check the engine timing. Again, I don't really know what the FSM is talking about. Could someone also put this in dummy's terms.

One last question, my car pulls great from idle to about 7000 rpm, after 7000 is doesn't seem to have as much power. Is this normal. By the way, the car is 100% stock.

Thanks.

Trying to find a link for you on how to check the TPS. Kinda hard to explain the to the first time do'er. The power drop off after 7k is normal for stock.
