Please dont kill me.......
for asking this, but its bugging me. Ive heard two diffrent people say that some FCs came with I4s. And these two people are genrally not stupid people. Is there any truth to this at all? And if there is(which there better not be), WHY?
no, and HEEEEEELLLLLSS NAW!!!! These people might be knowledgeable with some cars but they are automatically asked to step away from my car if they make an ignorant statement like that.....if I were you I would whip my ridiculously average ***** out and smack them across the face with it.

it makes me wonder, since miata engines love boost so much, i could boost one to a easy 300hp, and stick that in a rx7.....hmmm..... a reliable rx7....that still stays in the mazda family...

It seems counterintuitive to me...........you are going to put a 119 t0 146 HP engine and completely rebuild it so it can withstand 300HP, then install it in a car that is heavier that the car it was originally in.......I'm sorry but no matter what engine you use it will lose reliability when you slap on forced induction and that much boost.........stick with the TII motor and go from there.......my .02 cents

we need to keep this FC specific people.........FC's ARE NOTHING BUT ROTARIES FROM THE FACTORY!!!!! NOT A V6, an I4 nor a V4 as some idiot asked me once!
I dunno, awhile back I was thinking of dropping my protege engine into an rx7.... oh yeah I can see it now. beating all those horse buggies.
it's funny...Madrx7racer said "my .02 cents" that's like, 2/100ths of a cent.

i didnt read al this crap as so many posts were about I4 vs 14.
maybe he was (your friend) thinking of an old Mazda that had an I4 whereas there was a Rotary version with, well, a rotary.. it wasnt an RX7, but there were other RXs.
*(about to try and find which models i'm thinking of and double checkin to make sure they were in fact both Mazdas)*
"Between the years of 1970-1971, the first vehicles to see U.S. shores were the R100, Familia (the Japanese 1200cc-piston-powered R100), 1800, rx-2, AND 616 (piston-powered RX-2)."
