please answer. about cpu and beeps
when you have the keys in the ignition and the doors open does your car beep?
recently did over my cpu and with some creative rewiring on the pc board i have all functions working properly...but i got to thinking tonight when i was rebuilding my window regulator..how annoying cars are to work on when the doors are open..the beeping gets old....and then it dawns on me that i dont have that problem....so thankful..it beeps about 10 seconds when key is put in and then no beeps..i love you buzzer god!!
so i was just wandering if an 89 vert is supposed to have that function...cpu is the fc01
thanks for feedback

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
On the FB01 and FB05 CPUs, the key sense beep should only happen after the key has been turned on and/or then back off, but not removed from the ignition switch.
It should not beep if the key is just stuck in the switch. but had not been turned.
I can't imagine that the FC01 or FC05 would be any different, but it is common to have the beeper overheat and fail when they get old, where it would work as you describe, only for a few seconds then die.

well it does not seem like a problem at all..there is a pattern not just a stoppage...and if i put the key in and it does the beep stage..then i turn the lights on and remove the key...the beeps are constant and dont stop.
i am more curious about everyday people when they have the door open with the key in if it beeps...like my other 7s used to do constantly...didnt know if the s5 cpu was different from that end...beleive me i do not want this function..im just looking for others experience so that i atleast i know,
as far as im concerned it works perfectly( for my needs) unlike most cars that just beep and beep and beep....maybe i have the perfect secret mod in my cpu....functions correctly but not annoyingly...lol..it just does a rotation of 6 double beeps everytime then stops..with the door indicator still showing on the idiot light...just thank god the beeps only cycle 6 double beeps.
