Plastic Washer/Shim in Rear Suspension Uprights

Hey all,

I was installing my DTSS eliminator bushings and while following along Racing Beat's instructions, they make specific reference to this plastic washer that I didn't really pay attention to. No idea where it came from, so I'm confused on where it goes.

The FSM doesn't really make mention of it, all I can infer is it's this thing:

My best guess is that it squeezes into here between the upright and the control arm. Is this correct?

Also, does anyone know what kind of plastic this thing might be? I'm pretty sure I accidentally threw away the opposite side's ages ago and need to either buy or make a new one. Based on density and hardness, I'm between glass filled nylon or Delrin

Yes, that's the correct location for washer. I don't know specifically what material they are made from other than a tough polymeric material. They are NLA from Mazda, but Atkins sells them.

86-91 Rx7 Rear Upper Control Arm Stopper Washer (FB01-26-335)

Alternatively, you may be able to find suitable replacements on the McMaster-Carr website (https://www.mcmaster.com/products/ha...ial~plastic-1/)

more likely to be a nylon, but if you needed to make one from delrin i'm sure it would be ok.

Ah, yeah, just from the Atkins preview picture, it looks like it's made of glass filled nylon. Wouldn't be surprising considering every plastic piece outside of the interior seems to be made of glass filled nylon on this car. I'm going to see if I have a spare hiding somewhere, otherwise I'll probably just buy a new one. Hoping not. Peak comedy out of SCS here

If anyone else just happens to have .125" or 3mm nylon or Delrin sheet laying around, here are the dimensions:
OD: 46.25mm
ID: 21.50mm
Thickness: 3.00mm

Good to know, but I recently installed aluminum bushings that eliminate the need for those fiber washers (https://store.partsshopmax.com/shop/...g/FCTARUB.html)
