So... I was putting together the rear-carrier assemblies. I had new rear-steer eliminator bushings pressed in. They look good to go...
which means these are out the door
So the real problem comes in when everything is re-assembled... There seems to be alot of gaps in between the bushings. Are these normal?? Everything seems incredibly solid. The big bolt for the rear-steers didn't draw the rear-steer-bushing up to the mount, but the bolt is so tight that I can't put any more torque on it (using a closed-end 7/8" wrench, long and has pretty good levereage.) Everything on it is solid.. the carrier can't move at all.
So... are these gaps... "normal?"
Rear passenger...

The mystery of the prize.
The gap on the rear steer eliminator bushing is normal, just make sure the sleeve is seated fully and the bolt is torqued to spec.
The gap on the top bushing is normal but it shouldnt be empty, there is a phenolic spacer that goes in that gap on the stock setup... maybe you lost it?

Haven't we ALL heard this
Normal.
There is a very small recess the metal bushing goes into in the trailing arm.
But I would say you are fine. As long as the stepped portion of your metal bushing is lined up with the top of the delrin bushing.

I dunno what it's function was. However, it was there and it is prob needed.
I would start by trying to find the stool of this big ape. Then see what you can find.........eewwww
Getting it off a parts car is going to be a bitch most likely.
Or you could as mazdaformance.com how much they need for the enclosed picture.
