Pineapple Racing Sleeves...Convince me..Help install??

Ok..I am considering buying the Pineapple Racing sleeves for my 86 N/A...Ok here is the deal...What all will I have to do to get these sleeves in...What will I have to remove, what gaskets will I have to replace and more importantly How hard is it to do...??? I wish I could find a step by step on how to put them in that would be most helpfull....I have been looking for the Thread that is titled....Rat Nest Removal....I can't find it anywhere...That is a thread on how to remove all the unneccessary emissions crap..IE Solenoids and Junk...If someone can direct me to these threads...That would be most helpfull..I feel like I am always asking to much...But you guys are my Mechanics that are teaching me how to work on rotaries...I am a good student...Maybe one day I will be able to rebuild my engine myself...Thanks Guys...

Remove the upper and lower intake manifolds, and replace those gaskets. You'll probably want to replace fuel lines at the same time, just CYA.

It's not hard to do, but you just need to label everything you remove, it's a bit complicated down there.

Sorry, I don't have a good write up, mines got an 89 block and it's somewhat different..

I would like to chime in here.

I really like Pineaplle Racing and the folks there.
they do great work.

But this whole sleeve thing concerns me.

I have yet to see a single dyno run of a car that had a know working properly 6 port system that then installed sleeves and dynoed again.

Heres my theory, (that secretly im convinced is fact)...

People are concerned about the operational status of the 6port system, so they start diagnosing it.

they also hear about the Pinapple sleeves right around that time because they are researching either AS they are installing /cleaning oor right before they install/clean thier 6port systems.

I think that the simple act of installing the sleeves is what propts people to clean thier 6port systems and in the process they fix other things (at least they re gasket) and then they get a BIG KICK outta the operation of their 6port systems.

No doubt.

But the fact is, that I rarely (actually never) hear of someone installing these sleeves in a pristine engine that is working properly with e clean intake system, and then compare.

What would happen if someone cleaned and rebuilt thier 6port system, and the dynoed..

Then they tore down and installed the pinapple sleeves and then re-dynoed?

Would there be a difference?
I feel safe saying that the difference would be negligable.

I think most of the benefit of these sleeves is that the simple act of installing them causes the owners to clean their 6port systems and this alone produces most of the benefit.

I want to see someone here with a normal system that is clean, do 3 or more pulls on a dyno, m then tear down in a nearby bay, install the sleeves, and then re-test.

What would those numbers look like?

Hmmmmm..........

Well I agree, But I am just beginning the Rotor Experience..I have about a week before my Acv Block off plate arrives...So I was considering buying these sleeves...I can tell you this...I have a Apex-i Dunk Muffler with 2.5" pipe all the way from my manifold..No cats...I wired open my 5th and 6th ports because I figured I didn't have enough back pressure for them to function properly..I have an MSD ignition The E fan mod, K&N intake ...I can tell you this..I don't have a Dyno close to where i live..Nearest one is about 2 hours away in Baton Rouge, La...Lightning Motorsports...I can only go by the seat of my pants Dyno...When I wired my ports open I could tell a difference in the car when it hit 5000 rpm...It went to redline alot faster than when I had the ports working normally...I figure for $50 bucks..Hey it couldn't hurt...to see...I just wish I could find the thread about removing all the unneccessary Solenoids and wires that have to do with this emmissions crap...I like the idea of having a clean, unclutered engine bay..The more stuff I can remove that is not necessary the better...You know what I mean..

I think that Rob@pineapple should have this done. Thus have legitimate facts than "yea this Is the ticket". Atleast we all know what to expect ultimately Increasing his sales.

I don't live near him, let alone talk to him. Maybe somebody should let him know on dynoing before and after and let the RX-7 community know!!!

Just a comment regarding the "purchasing" of the sleeves. They (pineapple) have NO cores at all...therefore you cannot buy their sleeves outright unless you first send them your core and they clean and press in the insert, or they just send you the insert and you clean and press it into the sleeve yourself. I am going through this as we speak...so I just thought I would pass it on to you guys.
