Getting it stock?

Getting it stock?
Alright guys I want to know what I need to do to get my car back to what it was when it was sold so I can start the real modifications. I have heard that I should do the 60k mile tuneup but what does that include? If anyone can give me a list of things to replace or repair I would appreciate it. Would $400 cover the tune-up or would it cost more than this. Thanks!

$400 seems "doable" if the car was well taken care of. Some routine maintenance might not be necessary if you plan on modifying the equipment; i.e. if the exhaust is in bad shape there is no point in regaining stock quality if you plan on upgrading. Maybe if you post some of the stuff youhave in mind we can tell you if it is worth looking at or not, and maybe point out some things that you overlooked. No sense in us listing the obvious.
For the record you have an 87 NA.

I just took mine to my local rx-7 mechanic for the tuneup. $400 should more than cover it.
I also had the TPS replaced after my tuneup to fix the bug with RPMS droping & stalling on hills.

I'm really surprised vaughnc! I would have thought you were more of the DIY type.

Ok I am planning on buying the true dual setup from mazdatrix Since I have the green now and I alo want to get a manal steering rack but that will be later on down the road cuz I only have 2k for now and will not get much more from my part time job. I also plan on getting the cold air box that the guy was selling around here soon also I already have a ghetto one but the guy made them from fiberglass so that won't look so cheap. I also want to get an e-fan but do not know which one to get. I proly would want to get my TPS replaced cuz the car is starting to jerk while at low speeds(10-15mph) but the jerking I had when I lost to the grand am is gone now. Mybe I should have left the tps alone oh well to late now.

Make sure you replace the plugs, wires (stock or aftermarket is fine), fuel filter, check to make sure your O2 sensor is working (fuel economy), get your injectors cleaned and blueprinted, if you have an NA and keeping it that way, get some pineapple racing sleeves and while you had the manifold apart, clean the 5/6 port actuators and such.

That's when I just bought the convertible & was getting several things done at the same time. They gave me a good deal on the tuneup since I was getting tranmission syncro work done too.
I'm also debating right now should I fix the busted motor mount on my TII or have that looked at professionally.

oh sorry, did you want a list of stuff to tuneup? Check www.teamfc3s.org as they should have a TSB on this.
