Trade secret give away..................get a long bolt that fits into the bearing with only a little clearance then fill bearing with grease place the bolt in the hole and smack with large hammer....presto one pilot bearing on the bolt and a bit of grease on your hand.

The biggest danger for using a dremel or chisel is damaging the inside of the e-shaft. If you have a steady hand and experience using these tools, it can be done without negative results.

go to your local parts store and rent the gm lifter removal tool. Its nearly identical to the mazda tool (mazdatrix sells them if you need a pic). Works every time. I ended up buying one and have removed countless pilot bearings. It is not as good quality as the mazda tool, however, its 1/4th the price.
