Piggy back IAT sensor problem.......S4 NA

Hello everybody, I have already searched but I havenīt found anything.

The problem is that I want to put a crappy potentiometer (not money fore more) in serie with the IAT for:
-getting more spark advance (it will run with 98 oct gas)
-a richer mixture

Will it work?

If it does:
Which IAT sensor must I mess, the one built in the MAF or the one under the dynamic chamber?

The car is a S4 NA

Thanks a lot for your replies

Kind regards

NA cars are too rich as it is, your best bet is to get an SAFC or something

98 octane is a waste of money on an N/A anyways. The car(N/A) needs lower octane fuel to begin with.

You'd mess with the wire that goes to the air intake temp sensor in the AFM. If you must.

What is your citys elevation above sealevel? If it's significant, remove the plug from the atmospheric pressure sensor and it will default to a value of sea level and make the mixture richer through the full operating range. If your at, say 670 ft above sealevel, removing the ATP plug will make the afr something like .3afr to .4 afr richer.

Try this@AFM volume air flow resistor
Had a good experience with this on my former Mazda's V6.
Should be a very good start for a rich NA.

Hi, I am thinkink about getting more advance to get a little more power (please correct me if wrong) because these cars were made to run with 87 oct gas, and I think that the european 95 (normal) or 98 (super) are able to allow a little more advance before detonate.

I would want to get more compression ratio better, but I think it is not possible without swapping to S5 na rotors.

I just want to make more power, I have already removed all the emissions, better cold intake with no2 secondary throttle axle removed, free exhaust (with electric 6port) and I donīt know what can I do without removing the engine and I think I cannot take out more weight with the rules we race.

Thanks a lot for your help

Regards

You'll only gain a few HP from timing advance.

If you want a few more degrees, just bump the CAS a bit.

Don't compare US gas grade ((RON+MON)/2) and ours (RON)!
FYI the Euro 98 is 93 in USA and our Euro 95 is 90 there.
And not much to gain like doin' a 10° to 15° advance in a '91 MX-5 and do it in our FC's. Stick to Euro 95, save money.

what kind of exhaust are you running? the rtek would be the best bet for some more HP.

Thanks for the info about the advance and the RON.

By the other side, I am running the stock exhaust manifold with a little pice of pipe.
How does rtek chip help performance?

Cheers

Stupid question but what it does if we mount a bit smaller injectors ?

Hello, then the limit hp would be lower (the smaller size injectors would give less max flow at the same duty cicle). Also, if you donīt re-tune your ecu you will run lean for the same reason (the ecu will produce an output signal in form of duty cicle for the correct a/f ratio, then for the same duty cicle, less fuel flow and leaner mixture).

I have never seen an rx7 in France, lucky you!
