I was on my way home from graveyard shift, and all of the sudden I heard scraping from under my car. It was a thin metal pipe that the hot air from the exhaust (from the cat back into the manifold) connected too. I couldnt connect it back together for some reason. So i had to drive 10 minutes with it scraping to get home.
Any ways, is it bad to drive with it like that. I almost wanted to get toed back home. Any help on the purpose of that part would be appreciated.

 

you ll be ok ,, but i wouldnt drive around alot like that . You will soon clog up the cats. If you can get a peice of hi temp rubber hose and some worm clamps and connect it that way. if you cant connect it like that . then you might need a new cat
