Yeah, they all missed the news when APC got slapped with a lawsuit because their stuff did not pass D.O.T. requirements.
It was something like a $600k or $600M lawsuit...

I think LED's would look better on S4 tails. Maybe with a serial port in the dashboard so you can print text across the back of your car like "BACK OFF *******" then have it switch back to tail lights

Not joking, but we get screwed every which way by the government that im not going to worry if the lights I choose are DOT approved, and I highly doubt anyone will ever check.

You're probably right, but you must surely realise that your comment "I bought the car, not them, I'll do what I want with it" is just really silly. There are rules for these things for good reasons. Whatever you do to your taillights might work fine, but if you put in lights that perform poorly (and many aftermarket and custom lights do), then you're making your car less safe. Why should other motorists risk not seeing you just because you decide to do what ever you wanted to your car?

of course its your car to mess with, but really when im behind a cadilac with led and grandpa is always on the breaks. seeing his lights just makes me want that visiability

plus i live in SF, fog is killer, touge runs are tight, but light is a important thing.

is it just me or if i remember right there is no speed limit on the autobahn(except some parts) And there are fewer wrecks with people going like 120 all the time and yet you have a speed limit on our interstate and there are all kinds of wrecks. Rules are for our safty I think not lol.

That statement just confirms what I first thought... I'm not going to waste my time explaining it, but your logic and understanding on that topic is seriously flawed.

That's because people in the US are careless. They are talking on the cellphone, ******* with the radio and drinking huge sodas whild driving. I even saw a man reading a newspaper while driving on an interstate. People need to concentrate on the task at hand instead of screwing around with other stuff.

All of which are illegal in Deutschland, where the "no speed limit Autobahn" exists. They do also have regular highways, most of which with a minimum speed of 60 and a maximum speed of 80km/h with photo-radar style speed-traps at regular intervals.

They're also much more careful about the lanes themselves there. People pay more attention to going straight in their lane, and looking ahead properly. 90% of the cars are 5 or 6 speed manual, and the drivers are 100x more attentive than in North America. They also don't travel in the highspeed lanes for long... generally just to pass someone, and they indicate the entire time they're in that lane, then they get out of the way to allow faster traffic through. Europeans are just plain better drivers than we are in North America. The Italians are kinda crazy though on the Autostrada, I'm not gonna lie.

also the driver's licence in "Deutschland" costs about $3000 to get and if it gets suspended or anything else you have to pay that again.

nice lights man -- that seems like a good way to spend 100 dollars to me -- i dont think that the look is for me though, i dont like how the outer (orange) lights are still stock -- if you could do somthing to them to complete the look then i would have to ask you how to do it and put them on my s5

You want to know why its always an arguement in here? Its because ALOT of fc owners are younger and havent matured enough. Then they proceed to saying things that arent the smartest things to say. example (not word for word)- rules are bad we should just break the rules.

Yep, I was recently in Germany and rode in a car on the autobahn. The drivers are very attentive, very careful, and very corteous to others. BTW, only sections between cities are unlimited speed. There are many sections which are 100-120 kph limited. Also, there may not be as many crashes, but when they happen they are much worse than the ones here. I saw one and it was really bad. Several flipped cars and one on fire.
