S4 TII: fuel/idle probs

ok guys i'm in a bind with my TII and the "mechanic" who "fixed" it.....the car would have a fuel odor when running and when it sat for a while it would throw puffy white smoke for like a minute then clear up so i'm thinkin injectors leaking really bad so i took it in to a local shop....well they were lookin at the car and noticed that the air bypass solonoid valve(the valve thats connected to the intercooler and runs to the BAC valve) was cracked, and a few hoses needed to be replaced. they tear into the car replace two injectors(one which they said wasnt even connected bc a bad grommet and the other was leaking), the absv, the hoses and intake gasket.....1347 bucks later the car now runs like ***. when i first left the place it ran great but about 10 min later it didnt want to stay running at all i had to damn near keep it floored to get it home......now it cranks and immediately dies, i can keep flooring it to keep it running but it throws huge clouds of smoke which covers the whole block....so should i take it back to them, kick his *** or could it be something else......i noticed a connector unplugged down by the rear rotor where the oil line bolts in, i dont know where it goes but i doubt thats it.

Needs pics!
Is the smoke still white? Are you sure its not blue?
Do a compression check plz.

The ABV valve and hose is a air supply for the power steering system. It is not on or used all the time. The VAC leaks should be attended to. This should take no more then a hr and half and a few bux in hoses unless you used good silicone or viton hoses and I doubt they did.

1,347$! Holy Jesus I coulda bought a rebuild block from Kevin for that!

You need to check the injectors perhaps pull them and take them to a shop that cleans them. They will be able to verify if they are good and so on and the grommets and orings. If they are leaking then yes you will flood your car over night and it will white smoke on start up.

Its still not running? Do the ^. After that check AFM providing the compression passed. I think you tossed a apex seal though.

thanks ice...thats what i wasnt wanting to hear(apex seal) but that's what i am thinking too. is it possible that it could be the intake leaking, i doubt it is the injectors bc two of them are new and the others were fine, its the fact that the car ran fine for like ten minutes and then went to the ******* that scares me, maybe my heavy foot blew my motor....there seems to be no vacuum leaks and the smoke is puffy and white...it comes out of the tail pipes for a few minutes after the car is off and smells like burning gas.

A leak would not give the symptoms you are receiving. If your injectors were trashed or not even squirting into the motor then you would run lean....Lean can mean bye bye apex seal. This is just a hunch of what could have happened. I would video tape taking off the UIM at the shop and see if they got the injectors backwards or something see what you can’t come up with.

haha thanks guys....well i changed the fuel filter thinking that it could be clogged and since it was getting dark that is all i could do last night....well i got off work today and found the prob. i then started kicking my own *** bc if i would of had some damn light i would have found it easily.....it was the damn recirculation (BOV)valve, it was off the intake pipe. yeah i feel kinda bad after i cussed the mechanic for messing up my car......hey guys now the car throws a little puff of smoke at high RPM's like around 5500.....it that the turbo? and secondly, after i fixed the intake prob my car smoked a little, well when i got in i noticed no oil pressure, so naturally i looked for the connector at the end of the oil sending unit. it was missing so i turned the car off to cool and found it hanging by my fuel filter so i reconnected it and started the car again and now it doesnt smoke at idle at all.....now will hooking the connector back up stop it from smoking or is it just a coincidence? thanks for the input, im very familiar with RX-7s but new to the TII so i have a lot to learn.
