did it use to be a big thing to carb rotary engines? I used to see them all the time however now everyone has standalone. Or maybe I'm just mistaken. Was this maybe before standalones where compatible with rotaries?

When they drag their cars for about a minute or so, they usually don't use the filter for better performance. If it was a daily driver, they would be crazy

i would think it would be worse on a road race than daily driving, when they take corners they are always kicking up dust. its understandable on a dragstip

It's called technological progress. Same reason DVD players now outsell VCR's.

Puma rotary, I'm sorry to say that you will more then likley be upset with the power loss with going with the 45dcoe sidedraft. I had the same set up and was HORRIBLY dissipionted with the out come. I went with 50mm sp webber and was a litlle bit better but still not up to stock HP specs. I wish i would have left it FI. BUT I also am in higher elvation 5265FT above sea level. LEt u sknow what you think though.
