pics - rockguard full nose & hood film - wow

Found this link on rx8club.com and wow, they have a 2nd gen pattern.

Essentiall this is a non-removable flexi-film that sits attop your paintjob, not the old molded clear plastic bumper cover.

Full kit 050 010 095 $444.95
Partial kit 050 010 096 $257.95

FTP Lense cover - $20

Product details:

StonGard makes quality of appearance of our finished product our primary goal for both short and long term and makes ease of installation secondary only to appearance of the finished product. The competition focuses on ease of installation as primary and appearance secondary. This is evident in the competitions practice of commonly using relief cuts and chopping large pieces into smaller pieces. This results in a finished product with sharp points that can be caught by wash mitts which start to peel and seams that will collect dirt and wax over time. This can never be removed. StonGard prides itself on it's ability to produce a one piece per panel fit that never includes relief cuts and designed in a way that is easy for a trained professional to install.

Product Highlights:

Increadibly Tough:
StonGard covers your car's most vulnerable areas with durable eight mil thick, clear urethane film. Its special adhesive backing gives you protection that holds on for as long as you own your car.

We guarantee it.

Perfectly Clear:
StonGard's built-in UV inhibitors mean that it will remain perfectly clear - even under the strongest sun and the harshest weather - so your car's finish always shines through. It's so clear, in fact, that you'll hardly know it's there.

Yes, you can wash and wax over it without worry.

Pre-cut to fit car:
We precut the StonGard kit for your specific make and model of car. That means it fits perfectly, precisely and beautifully.

3 point guarantee:
- Guaranteed - to be safe on properly prepared finishes.
- Guaranteed - to remain clear and never yellow.
- Guaranteed - to adhere for as long as you own your car.

Affordable & Enhances Investment:
StonGard helps keep your car looking as good as new for years - no matter how many miles you drive, no matter how rough the terrain. That keeps your car's resale value high. And you maintenance costs low. How much does StonGard cost?

Application:

Awesome, except you really have to like the look of your car when you put that on. It looks really difficult to remove.

How would it work on the S5 bumpers having the raised MAZDA?

Also, what if it did actualy get cut. How would you repair it?

Regarding the Stongard, a number of the bimmer guys have used this product w/ good results. I would have no problem forking over the cash for this product.

In fact, when I get my new front bumper, I was going to ship them the bumper for a "custom" application.

Did they tell you how much? I requested a quote a few weeks ago and they never responded (to do a 99 bumper+lenses)

The local dealer puts a similar product on RX-8's as an option.

Well, I just spoke w/ them. They DO do custom applications.

Here are the general fees:

$20/sq ft. (of material used for StonGard. This price is not necessarily the same for StonGard Light)
$75 to pattern (this is essentially the setup fee).

This is of course, not including the shipping cost for the bumper.

They did say to used tape as an indicator to show just how far/deep you want the Stongard to cover. When they receive the bumper, they will call and confirm w/ you what they can or cannot do.

By the way, the StonGard Light seems to be more ideal for covering your lenses, therefore there may be an added cost (slightly different to the quotes given above).
http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/what_sgl.asp

Once a pattern is made, the pattern should be available to everyone else, as the pattern is stored in a computer.
