It's a 91 with a S4 jspec turbo. I haven't had a chance to dyno it yet. With my intake, DP and exhaust, I think I should be hitting 165 at the wheel.

OOOHHHH, 91!!! I also have a '91 'vert (white) with 64K miles. all stock, but she is still fun to cruise in. I could not imagine driving her with a turbo.

What did you do with your fuel system? What injectors/fuel pump are you running? If you want a S5 turbo and manifold, I have one for sale. Then you could really start putting out power.

What shape is the turbo in and how much are you asking? I'm looking at getting one soon as my tax return comes back

That is one nice vert

I'm using a walbro pump with stock TII injectors. I'm waiting/saving to upgrade to a bigger turbo later on, so I don't think I want to spend the money on a S5 upgrade right now.

I love driving my vert before the conversion, but now I just love driving it a little bit more.

Ahh now, just a little bit??

Seriously, I know it's been a year since you drove it last. But, can you tell a significant difference??

I've been a big fan of this conversion. Look to do it myself one day soon.

Sure, if you pay for my gas and beer expensives, I'll head out tomorrow. Always wanted to drive across the country in my 7.

Well, it drives and feels quit a bit different than before and I can difinately feel the power. The car pulls alot stronger than before, especially when the turbo kicks in. Now I can actually smoke some of those annoying Hondas. But I do missing driving my vert when it was still a N/A, although it was a bit slow, but it was a hell of a fun car to drive. The turbo is great and all, but it's just not the same. Now, everytime I drive the car I'm paranoid at every little sound from the engine compartment and have to give it extra TLC. I guess that's the price you have to pay if you want to go turbo.

What kind of rims are those? Very very nice except for the logo on the hood.

The Rims are 17" powder coated Konig Villians. I think they look awesome, but they're a bitch to keep clean. I don't know why, but for some reason I really like the old mazda logo. I think the logo makes it stand out a little.

I would think you could put down a lil more power than 165; maybe like 185.

Have you added a boost guage?

Did you do the work yourself?

How is the noise compared to the NA version?

How did it effect gas milage?

I have access to a wrecked T2 with only 80k on it; and it also has a front mount that is slightly bent but solid. I have been considering the swap since day 1; just waiting for a sign.

RotaryMaz - Nice job. I envy you. I'd love to have that extra power.
Samps - Here is your sign. If I had a T2 handy I'd have done this to my baby immediately. Of course you've spent a bunch on babying your vert, so I can understand the reticence. Intellectually anyway. Can you get a straight mount? That would make me a bit hedgy too.

ok im a newbie so can maybe someone explain this to me.

i thought convertible 7s were never made with a turbocharger. so either ive been misinformed or youve done a lot of work on this car, did you chage the T2 to a convertible, or a convertible to a t2?

I need like a sign from God. Maybe a lightning bolt right through my motor on a perfectly sunny day. Or I change oil one day and all the internals pour out in liquid form and reshape on the ground forming the word "TURBO" Something along those lines... And my vert sees its' fair share of abuse.

It got squished in between two cars. There was not one body panel that was not destroyed. But the motor and tranny are fine; the front mount (HKS I believe) is bent but still holds pressure up to spec, and all the intercooling tubing is useable. The drive shaft and half shafts along with the diff are the questionable parts. The ECU and injectors are good as new. Basically everything I need for the swap for like, well; towing fees!
