Pics of my project car

Finally some pics of my car. A friend is hosting these for me so a big THANK YOU to him is needed.

http://www.rotarymiata.com/fprx/fprx.htm

We should have the car running by the end of September. Since the pictures were taken we have wired the car, run the fuel lines and are currently waiting for the guage panel to be made for the guages. Only basic guages will be needed. Oil temp. and pressure, water temp. and voltage with the tach mounted to the steering column. Seat cover and harness will be bought eventually and I should be ready to run. The battery will be moved eventually but is not a priority right now. The fuel tank ended up being rusty inside so I will have to get another one before it will run. Hope to have it by next week.

Same sanctioning body - SCCA - but totally different rules. IT rules are for wheel to wheel racing and usually have more safety equipment involved like fire extinguishers, proper door bars on your roll cage, etc... Since my car is only going to be a soloII autocross car I can skip the cage(even thou its not recommended to do that) and I can port the engine. Eventually I'll have a roll cage and at that time I'll hull the doors out but till then I'm keeping the door bars. I don't mind the extra weight since it does provide some protection incase I get real stupid on course and do something I shouldn't. Minimum weight is also lower for an FP car. 1900# and that can be with a PP or bridge port engine. I can't think of any IT cars that could keep up with that.

S4 N/A engine totally stock with an 81-85 distributor. Carb is a Weber 48 DCOE off a Formula Mazda using a Racing Beat upper intake. Pretty basic setup. I'll eventually have a ported(street or bridge using TII plates) engine with some type of FI setup but for now I'm old schooling it.

That is pretty cool man. I ought to do something like that and get out of this destructive stock car racing I do. Keep up the good work and rep that rotary.

Its not to bad but I wouldn't want to travel with it. That particular seat is a Pro Drag Seat. Much easier to get out/in than a circle track seat or a road race seat. I want to get a real road race seat eventually but they cost easily 2-3 times more. And the seat is adjustable(forward and backward) incase I have a short co-driver.
